Your generous donations at the event helped us raise more than $8,000!
The Annual MN4WDA Spring Convention brings all sorts of off-road enthusiasts together in early May to hit the trails for the unofficial start of the Minnesota Wheelin season.
Hosted this year, May 5-7, at Frontenac Farms, the annual event raised funds to support the MN4WDA mission of creating new trail opportunities, educating the public about off-road recreation, and fighting anti-ORV legislation. Funds raised during this event help to expand the new Mille Lacs County and MN4WDA ORV Recreation Area in Central Minnesota and help pay for our lobbyist to advocate for more trails across Minnesota. This year through your generosity we raised over $8,000.
The Medallion Hunt
Part of this year’s special event was the search for three Medallions hidden throughout the Frontenac Farms with clues released each hour to help pinpoint the location of each medallion. Winners got to keep the hand-crafted Medallion with th 2023 Engraved Convention logo and an additional $50 Cash prize.
- The Victory Lap Medallion was found by Jeremy Maher
- The Lil Salty Medallion was found by Minh Doan-Cremeen
- The BSF Recovery Team Mobile Medallion was found by Ari Tetzlaff
- Special thanks to Geoff O’Brien for the creation of the beautiful 2023 Medallions.
The Food
What brings more people together than a rolled over vehicle on an off-road adventure? The answer is great food. We started the morning with coffee and doughnuts provided by Lakeville Off Road and, as the day turned to night, the 250 attendees came to the newly built “Shed” at Frontenac for a meal catered by Randy’s Restaurant in Red Wing, Minn. It was some of the most delicious chicken one has ever tasted.
The Raffle
Once again, the MN4WDA Spring Convention Volunteer Committee worked tirelessly to procure some of the best raffle items from top off-road brands, business partners, local businesses, and MN4WDA Clubs. By far the highlight of the raffle items was a hand-made quilt of past Spring Convention Shirts by Kaylene Grui raising $700. Other top items included winches, recovery ropes and gear, tools, off-road jacks, t-shirts, gift certificates, coolers, and camping gear. We would like to take this time to thank everyone for their generosity in donating prizes.
The Volunteers
We could not put on such an event without the countless hours of planning work of the Spring Convention Planning Committee, the overwhelming support of the volunteers that staffed the rerchandise sales booth, raffle ticket sales table, registration and check-in, the tech inspection team, and the Roper Family for hosting the event at Frontenac Farms Off-Road Park.
